Last Week Run Scribe

TP HHH RUN No. 1551
GUN de SON’S HEAD, BUT GUN de SINGH’S TURBAN
RUN-SITE: TAMAN IMPIAN EMAS DATE: APRIL 13, 2009

The sky was gloomy precipitating with intermittent showers when the early-birds flew in; but it dissipated and cleared into a bright hue when the late-comers arrived. The takraw-team was having their weekly ball-game, come rain or shine; West was chided for not concentrating on the ball due to his constant puffing while the On-Cash Ikan Hantu hardly had time to display his ball skills as he was darting in and out due to the brisk business of collecting the 2-Quarter subs. While we were munching the muruku, courtesy of Indomee, the co-hares Disco and Kalawant Singhs were busy having a hand-shake round as if they are standing for the coming Khalistan election!
At 1800 hr sharp the Hare Gun de Son hollered On-On and we made a bee-line to the rail tracks via the sandy stream and entered the palm estate through a thorny gap. Paper then headed right towards the Kempas toll direction along the fencing and checked on the left at a 5-prong junction. Ninja connected and off we went up a slope. We headed north-east until the fringe of a familiar veggie farm in the vicinity of Taman Indec where the trail changed course abruptly to northwest; this was a classic ‘Bengali Pusing’ trail. The 2nd Check, near a ravine was almost found by our running Bayee, Jag, but Ikan Hantu overtook him and stumbled on the connection. His weak call puzzled Paki, who was holding on to the check papers not knowing which direction to connect; not until when MC and Bamboo Snake relayed the on-call. There was yet more of the ‘Bengali Pusing’ as the paper veered southwest; and true to his countrymen’s instinct, Jag was in top form, leading all the ‘vay’ to the 3rd check; so much so, Ninja, who was tailing him all the ‘vay’ acclaimed his prowess. When Jag arrived at the 3rd check, he connected the paper in a matter of seconds and the chasing pack had no respite and had to follow him down a slope and forded a shallow stream. MC, who was unaware of the slippery ground, fell like a ton of timber and slid down the slope! The 4th and the last check was a sure giveaway as the roars of the highway loomed loud as a tell-tale sign; IFoksoon found the connection on the right. The estimated distance was about 9.5 km and Bamboo Snake touched the tape at 7.17 pm. When the dusk turned to night after 7.40 Ulcer King, Botak, Indomee and Datuk Harun were still out in the wilderness. Some SCBs reported that UK was last sighted at the very first check when he inadvertently stumbled on the reds and was tracing his way past the loading-bay. Meanwhile at the run-site, instead of worrying about his Hailam friend, IFoksoon was spinning some chilling stories about the missing soul! At almost 8 the Bongkang finally emerged and admitted that he had gone astray and followed the Skudai Hash paper to Senai Estate lines and then retraced his way back on the rail tracks.
The GM called the circle to order at 8 and immediately iced the Hare and his co-hares. Wang Banyak Seng and some of his City Hash cabinet-members were all given the honour ice. The Acting Batu Api IFoksoon took the whip and immediately appointed UK as the first mystery and the latter iced him for his pretence to organise a search-party; MC was iced for being the fall-guy; Peter Pest for a wrangle over a piece of pineapple with UK. The supplier Datuk Harun, when told to bring more, rebuked them to say it takes a long time to grow. Watermelon was iced for yelling at Indomee as if he was a traffic cop. The next mystery Handsome iced Snake-Head for defiling the Batu Api’s tool as an AK-47 and Bamboo Snake for suggesting to use Disco’s holy turban to bandage MC’s wound! IFS reclaimed the floor and iced MC for boasting that his father had outlived IFS’s and Jag was also iced as he topped them to say his father is 88 and still going strong! Snake-Head was iced again for his convoluted description of his run-site next week, so much so Handsome has to clarify to say, ‘ go to the place where people go there and die” before everybody understood (中华义山). The Circle closed at the usual hour and we adjourned to 63 for the On-On; a bottle of Chivas complemented the food and the free flow all-night-long. Thanks for the treat. On-On
